3D Printing + Injection Molding in a CNC Machine 🤯
Hybrid Manufacturing Technologies innovated a path for using thermoplastics that are otherwise incompatible with 3D printing with improved surface finish and part integrity (eliminating layers). The new process is called AXIOM, which stands for Automated eXtrusion Into an Open Mold and is enabled by the AMBIT™ XTRUDE extrusion 3D printing head used in a milling machine spindle.

This seems very inefficient.
Just complete the dang mold and call it a day
That's pretty cool, does this have an actual difference to injection molding or is it just a cool thing
Fascinating! This would sure save a lot of time from printing layer by layer and probably yields better strength and surface detail
where can we find out more about this process?
Mill it and fill it!
Great work👏👏
Just I tried to understand what is different than 3d printer nothing boys why?
Just injection mold done
What's the polymer?
The worst of both worlds
The tolerances would be far higher than standard printing and I imagine the layer lines would be minimal as well
So 3d printing with extra steps?
How do you get them out?
