It takes 0.08 kWh of energy to produce one liter of water with these particular units. The new advancement that we have made to this technology allows us now to produce one liter of water with even less energy. This AWG5000 unit is at the hospital on the Island of Vieques in Puerto Rico and is being run completely on solar power after hurricane Maria. As soon as the water hits the ground and evaporates it goes right back into the hydrologic cycle to be captured again in its purest state.

I don’t think you can drink that water on a regular basis because it doesn’t have any minerals in it and your body won’t be able to use it long-term. Please correct me if I’m wrong. This is why they say not to drink water from a dehumidifier.
