Super munter. You can lower a car on 1/2" rope with just 1-2 people letting it out.

That is a double munter hitch if anyone was wondering. The regular munter hitch is used as a backup belay if you accidentally loose a belay device. It created heat on the rope when something is lowered and could eventually do damage to the sheet (outside of the rope) it is a very useful hitch to know as in the climbing world this could save your or someone else's life!

Is this called munter and mule?
@florian.gruber_19882024-02-22
Same effect when you just wrap the rope around the bar several times (2-4), you also have a friction brake but without constant rope burn and you can easily use it to secure weights on their way up cause without the knot it works in 2 directions.

Halbmastknoten geht genauso gut und das in beide Richtungen

Don’t use rope that can’t handle friction (plz)

What about the opposite what if I want to pull somebody up but I want it to break as I'm getting another grip to pull up again

I saw someone do this with a piano on the outside of a 2nd story house. I think it crushed a guy
