Testing out a concept for 3D printed stand-offs that snap-mount in place, offering a custom alternative to traditional stand-off hardware. This design can easily be modified to create stand-offs of different lengths and shapes, with different surface patterns and textures. They can also be produced in any number of colors.

Could you please explain the purpose of the little disk shaped insert that you install in the "male" part of the connection? Why do you need a snap fit in this part as well and not opt for a fully solid piece? Thanks in advance!
