How about just learning the trade
I love my 12” skimming blade! However, I do wish the blade was stiffer. I have a USG offset knife, and use both my offset for metals, but I do wish my @advanceequipment skimming blade was as stiff as the USG knife.

And don’t forget about water removal. Aka using a sponge to sand. It’s in the directions.

With the 1st you placed your knuckles under with the 2nd the finger tips. If both were held the same way. I would believe this more.
