    Here's a slightly better way, make a hole which is slightly larger than the inner diameter, put a long screw through the hole and thread the insert on it just enough to hold, then use the soldering iron to heat the insert while pulling it through with the screw 👏

    Just use the head of a bolt to push the insert in and it stays flat at the top and perpendicular to the surface.

    There's the press it against a table when it's hot or press it down with a large bolt when it's hot

    The whole sizing is in the instructions when you buy the inserts. Along with information about adding a chamfer.
