Bringing it back.
Like way back.
6.5 and 8.5 years ago to be exact.
Pregnant with my first baby on the left and my second on the right.
I haven’t always been into lifting. During college I played soccer, and after college I transitioned immediately into running full and half marathons. It wasn’t until I had my first son, that I picked up my first pair of weights, and it changed my entire life.
Through my first pregnancy I ran almost every day, 2-4 miles. Kept my pace up and loved it! Then I started lifting. After I became a mom I couldn’t find the time to go running (now I know 8 years later, time is relative and you make time.) so I transitioned to lifting, which I could do while my baby napped. When I became pregnant with baby #2 only 11 months after baby #1 was born, I kept up my lifting habits. And haven’t looked back since.
What I love about these two pictures is I was happy and healthy in both! The only difference was the form of working out I was doing. Cardio vs. lifting. It really does make a difference in body composition.
Also since we are taking it back to pregnancy days, I gained exactly 33 pounds with all of my singletons and 66 with my twins. How crazy is that?! I love how the body just knows.
So I’ll be over here lifting. Remembering my marathon days, and enjoying how fun fitness can be.

Anyone talking about her 3 (4) fingers ?
Yes I’ve gained 35 to 40 with all pregnancies! I start on the skinnier side so I think my body knows it needs a little extra 😀
I was a high-school/college athlete who when into tris and marathons in my 20s. I actually ran 20-30 miles/week for 10+ years while having children and just recently switch back to the weight lifting I did back in college when I was a competitive athlete. Only now I can focus on my asthetic results as much as preformance and love the way I feel. I dont feel depleted at the end of an hour long workout like I did with endurance training and as a mom of 4 I need to retain and stoke all the energy I can. I started following you because of your tummy pics. Mine is almost identical and I love your courage in being so authentic. Nice job, Mama 🙌❤️
I love being able to compare each pregnancy with the fitness you were doing. Thanks for sharing!!
When you started out how did you know what to do? Do you follow a plan?
You’re incredible so grateful to have found your page!
Do you follow a lifting schedule or program or do you plan weekly what you are going to do? Or have you been doing this so long you just instinctively know what your plan is?
Incredible!!!! 😍👏🙌
How much cardio per week are you doing now?
It's always interesting to read your posts, thank you for sharing❤️
