Annie's Canyon Trail in Solana Beach, CA
📍Getting here: Two trailheads lead to the canyon, Rios Ave Trailhead and Solana Hills Drive Trailhead. Rios is flat until you reach the canyon, and we vote much easier for small kids. It's also more scenic as it hugs the edge of the San Elijo Lagoon versus the I-5 freeway.
🥾 Canyon: It's a one-way canyon up to the view point. It gets tight in parts, so if you have a fear of tight spaces, you can always just opt to go left just before the canyon starts, and hike up to the view point that way.
🪜 Ladder: Our kids love climbing the metal ladder. It's just like climbing up equipment at the park, so if they can do that, they can climb the ladder. We easily fit a hiking pack up the canyon when our kids were too young to walk.
🚨 Beware: There's stinging nettle along the edge of the trail, particularly at the start from Rios Ave. The trail is plenty wide to avoid it, but little kiddos should be warned what it looks like and to not touch.

Would a large wide person (real question) be able to fit through this trail/ hike? I am not only tall but also big / round and heavy. Would my size fit through? My kid would love this.
Where would be a good spot for lunch after this?
