    I have heard that the term Zydeco, the music style in S. Louisiana, comes from the french ‘des haricots’, because that’s what they usually had to eat.

    There is also some examples of what we see as an anglicisme : Toast (like toasted bread), which is widely used in French Canada. It is indeed an anglicisme… but! The word toast comes from old French « toste ». So, I like to say we took back our word :D
