This has reduced my legal-ese anxiety so much. I love sending a legal docs thu ChatGPT and asking it to break it down like I was 12 years old.

    Hey everyone,

I'm an Italian lawyer based in London and just came across this post. It really caught my eye and I wanted to jump in with my thoughts. I recently wrote an article on this exact topic. When it comes to Cgpt in the legal world, it seems like a great idea at first, right? But let me share a bit of insider info.

From my experience, leaning on Cgpt for legal stuff is kind of tricky. You see, legal language is super nuanced and deep. It's like trying to read between the lines in a poem, but in this case, the poem is a law or contract! And this gets even more complex when you think about how different places have different laws and jurisdictions and ways of interpreting them. Cgpt, bless its digital heart, just can't quite catch all these subtleties yet.

It's not just about knowing what the law says; it's about understanding why it says it, how it's been used in the past, and what that means for people today and specifically in that precise context. This kind of thinking is really human stuff – about values, ethics, and sometimes just gut feelings. AI's not there yet, and we need to remember that. Not to mention the fact that I have noticed it often makes quite serious mistakes in terms of legal termilogy.

So, while Cgpt is super cool and definitely changing the game in a lot of fields, we've got to be careful about how we use it in law. It's an area where the human touch still matters a lot.
    Ciao!

Imagine if someone made Google lens like application that can read and simplify the legal contract while reading in paper before signing

As a foreign trained lawyer - this is game changer. I’m happy that from now on lawyers will be paid to think. Not just to cut and paste!!! Gotta love GPT and AIG!

Love it. How can you use ChatGPT to do the opposite. For example write a contact for my services as a life coach & fitness coach

Sounds like a way to review Federal, State, and local proposed laws to understand what they really mean.

I am not loading any of my legal agreements into some third party software. That is why I search for and hire a quality attorney.

@justinfineberg_ can you please post a link to find this prompt? Can’t find it on Twitter
