If you’re looking for some fun recipes to make with apples this season, check out these upside down apple danishes made with just puff pastry, honey, cinnamon, egg and my favorite Michigan-grown apples! 🍎
INGREDIENTS
1 apple
1 puff pastry sheet
6 tablespoons honey, plus more to taste
6 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 small egg, whisked
Powdered sugar, for dusting
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and large a small baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Cut the apple into wedges, then make thin slices from the wedges.
3. Roll out the puff pastry sheet and cut into 6 squares.
4. Add about one tablespoon of honey to one corner of the prepared baking sheet and repeat with five more spots. Add the cinnamon on top of each spot of honey. Lay about 6-8 apple slices on top of the honey and cinnamon. Lay the cut puff pastry on top of the apples. Brush the egg wash on top of each puff pastry
5. Bake in the oven until golden brown and puffed, 12-14 minutes. Flip around and dust with powdered sugar.
