Number 4 addresses the “dont go to hawaii” anti-tourist sentiment you’ll definitely notice if you visit the hawaiin islands, and how it contrasted with my experience in the canary islands. 🌴
As a reminder, all travel is subjective - this is just my experience! I had a lovely time in both destinations, but as an east coaster, Tenerife wins this round.
A few more reasons I prefer it:
🌴 inexpensive ferries to other islands (Hawaii you have to fly which can get expensive/inconvenient)
✈️ affordable flights to mainland Europe / Africa - very easy to extend your trip
👯♂️ less touristy / commercialed than the Hawaiian islands
👩💻 huge digital nomad community
🤓 better working hours for US based remote workers - 3pm to 11pm, instead of 3am to 2pm

I found the people of Hawaii very welcoming. It was one of my most favorite places that I have traveled to. With the many issues as of late that are plaguing the Hawaiian people, I can imagine why they are not feeling so hospitable so we should all be a little more compassionate. As for the location in which you posted on, looks amazing, I might just take a trip!!!!
