I got a lot of feedback from my previous video asking why I use this method and saying it’s dangerous, but in fact, I believe it to be the safest way.

I recently made a jig to do this. Works great.
So basically you have to cut the piece to size and perfect then you make the miter ?
This is such a cool idea for minimal material loss! Definitely will have to give it a try.
👏
Damn....is that board like 30' long? You seem to be pushing it forever
this is the only way, but on a right tilt table saw.
How is that dangerous! Blade is completely covered. Large gap allows the cutoff plenty of room so it’s not going to come back at you. Your hands are being carefully and diligently placed. It’s brilliant!👍👊
Used this method this past week for the first time. Definitely my go to from now on!
Shaper designated for 45. Much safer and cleaner cut.
The most irritating thing about woodworking is the opinions; whether it’s regarding tools, technique etc.
If it works for you and haven’t lost any fingers, I’d say you’re method is just fine.
I don’t see the danger here? 🤷🏼♂️ There’s a tiny chance that the waste strip could catch on a blade tooth and shoot back toward the operator but it would not have the same force as a blade in full contact with a waste strip trapped against the fence. It’s essentially an L-Fence technique which is all good.
👏👏👏👏
What about using a spindle moulder instead?
