We 3D printed this testing rig to play around with different four-bar linkage arrangements.
One of the most exciting things we happened upon was this double rocker mechanism which uses a curved linkage to allow a full 180-degree turn.
We're brainstorming how we can use this mechanism in a product and wanted to open up the discussion to all of you. Do you find this movement interesting? What kind of objects could incorporate something like this?
Thanks a lot! We appreciate your feedback.

And today, I just discovered it. 😮 I’ve never seen that before! Making my brain itch in a wonderful way. First I have to convert to laser cut manufacturing. Then, how do we make it ‘box lid’ compatible? THANK YOU! Inspiring, no lie. ❤️
Nail clippers that you don’t have to spin the top arm to use. It just flips over onto itself.
Could be used as a hinge for an office table. A panel within the table could flip out to be a laptop stand
Can you use it to reverse circuitry in computational functions?
You could use it in a type of locking mechanism where at the top could be unlocked and the bottom could be locked
Very cool 🔥
Maybe to hold a TV on a wall and be able to flip it with a painting on the other side or something
Boxessssss! There’s this box from the movie parasite where the character keeps their journals and I can’t stop searching the internet for it 😆
Use for Knives
A lighter that actually lights because of the 180 turn , good one for a collectible. have an image in mind, not a genius articulator.
A laptop with touchscreen that folds almost into an ipad
I immediately thought that you could put two rockers, one on each side of a knife tang, and have a novel idea for a pocket knife design
this could be really cool for a classy joint/ cig case
You could do a wall mounted flipping board. Like a two sided whiteboard or cord board.
There is no need for that thing to be in an S shape btw
