1 thing I regret about this…
I love American start up companies and I’m getting the word out on the Champaign, IL based company @gritautomation
For the past few years, I’ve wasted so much time turning on my tools, dust collector, and opening and closing blast gates. I needed a solution that automated all those tasks so I could focus on making and filming my work.
Thanks to Grit’s technology, all my tools trigger the specific gate and dust collector the moment I turn on a tool. My air scrubber turns on when pm levels get too high because of the air quality trigger that is constantly measuring the sawdust in the air. At the end of the day I can lock the entire tool system so my small kids can’t turn on my tools and potentially injure themselves.
I regret not getting the Grit System sooner!
Go to gritautomation.com to start building a custom solution for your workshop. The people there have been fantastic to work with and have answered all my questions.

$250 for a gate and $150 for a sensor and then all the other nonsense…. We’re around $3.5k to outfit my shop. Very cool but more than I’m willing to spend.
This gonna cost me a kidney?
Will it allow more than one gate to be open at the same time? There’s two of us in my shop and a lot of times we’ll both be using a tool hooked up to the dc.
We are big fans of what Grit is doing. And that ⚡ 🔒 is 🔥.
Champaign, Illinois based 😜
Why would one need.... A blast gate?
Would like this for opening and closing my soldering fume exhaust hood.
Ball valves are 100x better than these blast gates
can it cut my cigars?
The issue I see with this, is especially on high dust machinery (drum sanders, edge sanders), the blast gate has to be forcefully shut several times to free up and evacuate the sawdust clinging to the walls and blocking the gate from closing the entire way. Something this clearly can't handle.
I’ll take six blast gates please!
Doooooope!!!
🔥🔥🔥
Would like that for Valterra gate valves on 3" pipe
