Brilliant example of an engineering control. 10/10 safety guy approves.

Mechanical interlock at is finest.

Until a breaker flips and the switch goes dead. If it’s a convenience thing, no problem. If it’s exhausting something noxious related to the valve then there needs to be a fail safe in case the fan fails or the power is lost.

Looks like an air compressor for like a shop air system, I have something similar in my garage but without the linkage and I can tell you that would be useful because if you leave the compressor turned on it will stop once it gets to pressure but that will slowly leak until the compressor notices and turns back on, which usually occurs at 3AM long after we have stopped using the compressor and my grandparents are trying to sleep upstairs.

Janky, but simple, my monkey brain likes this.

STDP switch, perfect.

Get a valve manufactured with a proper switch integrated into it by design. That switch is going to snap and people are going to be like "wonder why this metal thing is hanging off this valve handle?"

Very simple interlock without the complicated controls

I’m thinking a shop that has a plasma cutter. Open the air supply for the plasma and the exhaust fan comes on

I think it's a generator starter, because you can hear it idle after the cold start

thank you captain obvious

Usually yellow marks propane.

the guy in this video is an idi0t, thats an air compressor valve that has to be shut at the end of the day along with the lights, so they made it one switch because no one forgets to shut off the lights

Doesn't matter how stupid it looks of it works.
