Machining a wooden cleat 🪵
This forms the subject of the latest lesson added to my CNC wood working course. It teaches students to understand two sided machining operations by locating stock, within a fixture block for the first operation. For the second operation the cleat is turned and located with an inverse carving, allowing the curved faces to be held and positioned correctly to align the second side 👌
Files for students to replicate this process, including all toolpath files are downloadable from the course lesson 💻
This cleat would be too fragile to actually use but it works well as a teaching aid or could even be used as a pattern for casting. This one will probably end up as my desk ornament 🪃

👏awesome 👌
Magnificent 👏👏
You can also make it in 2 Hal but without build the negative half, simpli let some tab between the piece and keep the corners intact so you can just flip around the piece and start the second half
Great work!
😍😍😍👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥
