Hey I am a native Irish speaker, and the way of saying I am good in Irish is Tá mé go maith literally translates to I am to be good. So whenever I speak in my second language (English) I will add an a between the am good part. I don't know why because as far as I'm concerned there's no rule like in Spanish in regards to the amount of consonants I must be doing it hence because I'm used to having a preposition showing that something is to be.
