I’ll take a .99 cent bic lighter 10 out of 10 times into the back country. Only reliable lighter on the market with my experience. Literally works everytime
Well in the video it worked just fine
Bics are reliable as hell. My dog found one in a creek, no idea how long it had been there, let it dry out, worked fine. Not to mention the countless times I've washed them and they work
Yeah no thanks. I keep 3 in a waterproof container under my seat with my emergency bag and another in my center console and another in my backpack. And ones in my pocket. Bics are reliable. As long as they aren't red or yellow.
I have two bic lighters in every pack. However, I recently picked up some of this fire starting rope. It works even when it’s damp. It will take a spark from anything.
I have two bics in my gear both are vacuum sealed, one in my pants pocket the other in my backpack , and I do have a rod as well. Over kill on small items isn't a bad idea. But I do love survivalists to try and knock the Bic lighter
I use bics in the backcountry all the time. I’ve never had one fail. Below zero F, I just hold it in my hands to warm it up and it lights. I’ve even gotten one to spark at 12,000ft in winter
You throw a bic in a plastic bag in the pouch with the fire starter then you’ll really have something
Why not, and hear me out....2 BICs, a ferro, a length of blackboard, AND the knowledge of stick rubbing?
Bro I found a bic In Saltwater with barnacles on it and it still worked you can’t out lighter the bic
Good stuff this in Old School Is strike anywhere matches dipped in candle wax and a ziplock bag.
That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t bring lighters with you. Always bring lighters with you just in case.
Roll the lighter across your pant leg a few times and even a soaking wet one will spark up.
Did the PCT 3 years after its dedication- always a BIC lighter. Hunted since from AK to FL -always a BIC lighter. Plus, matches- and a striker. Guess what- have never needed the matches or the striker.
But I like rubbing 2 sticks together.
