Your baby’s first language?
Before they can speak, newborns have been observed to produce five instinctive sounds, each tied to a specific need. The sounds are based on reflexes in human physiology, not culture or language, meaning babies all over the world make them.
This Oprah clip from 2006 breaks it all down 👇
• Neh = Hungry
• Eh = Burp me
• Eairh = Tummy pain
• Heh = I’m uncomfortable
• Owh = Sleepy
It’s called Dunstan Baby Language, created by an Aussie mum, Priscilla Dunstan.
Some parents say it changed everything. Others? Not so much.
Have you noticed these sounds in your bub?

This is so true. It doesn’t take too long to work out the sounds when you have a baby
Did anyone notice the SOS hand symbol at the beginning?
Ok so I wasn’t the only childless one, who stayed for the whole thing 😅
