The Urquhart Adjustable Golf Club from 1897 is the most valuable club in my collection. Patented in the UK in 1895 and then in the USA in 1903 this club is a marvel of engineering for the time and the mechanism actually still works like new 130 years later. Originally part of the Harry Woods Collection (the first real collector of antique clubs around 1900) after his death the collection of the 60 clubs was housed at the North Lancaster Golf Club until 1986 when it was sold to collectors. The famed American Collector Jeffrey Ellis obtained this club at some point and his entire collection was auctioned off at Sothebys in 2007 for a record $2.2 million. Think this club sold for around $3,000 at that auction. I just happened to find it on Ebay last year for much less than that but more than a new driver😂The first Adjustable Club but that has been followed through the years by many others including the most popular one ever sold the “Super Stick 17 Clubs in One” in the 1970’s. Amazing thing is the mechanism is better than almost all that followed it over the past 130 years
More than 100 years of being the worst and most boring sport on earth
Thing is built like a clock. Incredible mechanics, amazing!
Has to be worth some money??
Great idea. Make a driver too. Then I only need 2 clubs and a putter😍😍 more room in my bag for drinks😂😂😂
Cool
Damn my ancestors were even cooler than me! Go Urquhart!
this is pretty neat, but i don't play golf. what is the point of having an adjustable club?
WOW. That is so cool. I want one. 😂
Missed opportunity to use the “You see Urquhart? You gotta just go for it” audio 😂
I mean, the is really makes the most sense.
