WHAT PAINT?! I’ve been trying out so many spray paints and none of them look right

Does it stick or do you need to re apply the powder every now and then?
@pagz777♥ 5002025-09-23
Do you need to apply while the paint is still tacky?

I use gloss graffiti paint based on nitrous as a base plus if you combine graphite with other pigments you can achieve different tones of metal and different Sheens. Plus always always wear gloves and respirators. But it's just me or after I put a gloss clear coat on it looses some of its metallic sheen?

We just applied this, so not sure yet. This is for my sons’ Halloween costume, so I’ll report back after he’s taken it out for a spin.

Have you tried applying a clearcoat after the graphine is applied?

I saw @punishedprops do this same finish a few years ago and use a sealant to stop the powder rubbing off, but I think it did lose some of the high gloss. I imagine if you are using it for cons you may want to seal it. It looks amazing. Great work!

And now the Video you seal it ..and wondering why it turned in a Grey.

Do you put a clear coat on afterward to seal in the graphite? Because that is a gorgeous metallic silver! Have you done this process on foam to see how it looks?

This looks so good! Can you put paint on top of this or would that not work?

Legitimately thought it was a the other Katee Sackhoff space tv show. This looks like the cylon helmet from Battlestar Galactica

What do you wet sand to before polish and graphite powder? I went to 1,000 grit then threw on polish after a black glossy base coat. Then alternated between a layer of powder and slight layer of clear coat. And its not as reflective as yours

Ive never used graphite powder but as a fellow cosplayer im super curious, based on other comments I saw you dont clear coat it, but does the graphite rub off at all? Or like if yoi rubbed it against some clothes would it get onto it?
@aquarius.arts.k2026-03-13
But can you touch it lol
@hjskills2025-10-15
Where did you get the graphite? What brand (not all are created equal) thank you!
