TIP: If u use Museum Glass instead of normal glass, you will remove all the glare.
If you're looking to make an improvement on scan speed, the 3D Printer people have this "Constant pressure air cooling" system for their prints, so you can cut airflow, without spinning down the fan.
Woah that's awesome would love to make one to post books on Anna's archive haha
If you use a light polarizer filter, you can remove any reflection on the glass. The reflection keeps the polarisation and can be easily removed with an rotated filter.
Very cool and smart! But curious as to why. Wouldn't it be easier to buy a digital copy of the book? My local council library will also lend you digital books / ebooks
Love it. However the right page seem to be getting squished by the glass near the fold in the middle, which may result it loss of information of stuff printed near the edge.
looking really good! for faster page turning you could change the servo moving the fan by a motor that is constantly turning translated to a back and forward motion, that might make it more efficient, as the motor isn't stopping at all
What software are you using to capture and process the images?
This is amazing, do you sell them? How many pages per minute?
Do you know how a actual book scanner works?
I would add a little pop up wind deflector for the side fan, so that it can remain on, with the deflector blocking the wind during the photo. That way you are keeping the fan that seems to be working but eliminate the spooling time
I'll take it as an inspiration for my next Project. 👍
Would be awesome with a program to transform the scan to a pdf file. It's great having a thousand pages book but being able to do a ctrl+f to find something would be OP
This is beautiful use of mind…
Thats super cool!
