Cutting a rotating dovetail heel joint. I didn’t film a lot of it because I was almost certain I was going to film an injury while using the router. Turned out it wasn’t as sketchy as I thought 🤷🏻♂️

100 years from now, some unlucky luthier will try to unglue this.
I'm....I don't even know what to say. This is extremely unique.🍀
But why? Seems like your just over complicating it for no real benefit. You still have to glue that big block back in like a normal glued in neck, so there’s no added strength. And once you put a fret board on the neck, it’s going to be too thick to rotate in the pocket to remove it for repair.
Just why
That’s wild man! If you start taking requests please make a tele! 🔥
Regardless of whether the ease of maintenance is worth the effort, that is awesome! Wonder if there’s a way to get a custom forsner bit with that bevel on it so save you the chisel work.
That is so cool!🙌
I am a timberframe carpenter, have been for alot of years and this might be one of the coolest joint I've ever seen. Well done 🙌
Regardless of wether it‘s practical, this is extremely cool! Have you tested it with string tension? I wonder if uneven string tension would move the joint, if you for example tightened up strings one at a time from one side to the other
You are great !!! The best new thing in a world of normality !! in a world of start and tele (1954 )!! maybe nobody will understand the passion to do something new!!
This is awesome
So somebody “reinvented the wheel” for a complex locking heel joint that is completely dependent on regular old glue joints? Seems like a lot of work for no gain.
Dude this would have been impressive if it was CNC machined. It blew my mind seeing you do it all by hand!!! Wow 🔥🔥🔥
Super unique, I'd love to have a beautiful build like that. Im a guitar player and a wood worker so really appreciate the creativity.
This is cool!! Very clever idea. Thank you for sharing as well. 👏
