The math is right but the logic is deeply flawed! People don’t just die after they have children, they are not being replaced immediately by their children, there are still people now that were alive in 1950!
Has she ever been here? I’m an American living in China for almost 30 years. I’ve lived in other highly populated places before coming here New York, LA, DC. And there’s no way in the world she’s right. You come and experience this country for yourself. The density of people here is next level compared with the States
If China have produced the massive manufacturing base, advanced space technology and robotics with under 500 million people then they have overcome one of the biggest challenges facing us. Amazing, only 500 million and all of that advanced technology and innovation. Wow
Also, since male children were favored many female babies were aborted or abandoned, leaving a lopsided population hindering future generations.
After living there 8 years, I think she’s onto something. Plenty of people in the big cities… but it never feels ridiculously crowded.
They have entire cities with high-rise residential and hotels parks, eight lane freeways that are completely empty and desperate. There are videos out there of people going through these areas in these empty hotel lobbies and you can just see all the empty buildings several of them unfinished they only have windows in them. They just stopped building the city.
