Hi! Vet assistant who works with buns. Grooming a rabbit is SUPER important as they can go into stasis and die from ingesting too much fur. This does NOT hurt the rabbit. Other rabbits breeds shed a few times a year and you can pluck out their fur as well. It can actually be better than brushing cause the brushes can hurt their skin

a few common questions: 1. if the rabbit was in pain it would jump away! have you met a rabbit lol 2. this is NOT how angora yarn is made industrially, and you should look into the manufacturer before you buy anything angora. those rabbits are often mistreated and the yarn is not made in a safe and gentle way like this 3. this is actually more gentle than brushing because with her hand she's carefully finding the hair that's already loose and fallen out to add to the yarn, instead of a brush which pulls on all hair at once 4. the yarn is washed after spinning, which is one way sheep's wool yarn is often made as well

Note: In the fashion industry, most angora wool comes from rabbits who are violently plucked or shaved while restrained, often screaming in pain, several times a year, just to make soft sweaters and scarves.
