You wouldn't know it by it unassuming exterior in a nondescript corporate office building, but InventWood is creating a product that can revolutionize the entire building industry.
They're calling it "superwood", a material that maintains 100% wood composition while achieving up to 10 times the strength of steel at just one-sixth of its weight.
"This product is not only beautiful, it's incredibly durable," said Jonathan Strimling, president of InventWood. "We're making diamonds out of wood. We do use heat and pressure in our process and we wind up with a product that is more dense with greatly enhanced bonding between that already exist in wood."

Can they be burned by jet fuel?
What are the actual numbers tho? Not just hit, but longevity, hardness, and leeching?
So for now, it’s only suitable for exterior use because I'd imagine it releases chemicals into the air that could be harmful to health? Very cool but how environmentally friendly is this product I wonder?
Classic scenario. Publicly funded research carried out by an immigrant mind that creates industry.
How is doing with water exposure? Wood rot in particular?
Which musical instruments? Clarinets obviously, but anyone trying to make wood flutes a thing again?
What epoxy a vacuum and wood add pressure and heat and you have wood cell filled with epoxy lumber pressed and heated to cure faster in a vacuum
Fascinating. How about bonding?Shaping? Cutting? Does the color permeate the material, or do you get a blank surface where the end and long grain would be?
The process of wood working is you grabb a toll, whics is hardver, and sharper then the wood, and you form the wood how you want it. So, if the wood is harder then the steel, how can I make anything from it?
Also cost. Would be great for floors. Sick@of this luxury vinyl plank stuff that is in every home now.

Cooked compressed wood
Flammable?
What's the difficulty level of cutting this wood, and are there any hazardous chemicals released during the process?
How can it be a secret if it has a patton ?
