Maybe a dumb question but why not just use the printed gun for the prop?
Good gravy this is stunning. I’ve still yet to do a big mold & cast. Always seems so daunting
That gun looks like The Last Word, from Destiny...
Why not just print 2-3 of the same? I find it useless to go through all of this
Is that ace of spades?
Why do you put plastic on top as well? Does it help the wall standing?
I don’t do molding/resin casting work so I don’t have a frame of reference, but 10 minute cure time for that resin seems so quick!
Nice mold! 🙌 If you’re printing your pattern there do you ever mess with printing mold walls or mother molds. It’s fun. I want to try fully printing the pattern form and mold walls integrated and in half sections, so only thing left is to just pour silicone. Claying up is either tedious or meditative very much depending lol.
Nice execution, but I would’ve just printed the gun in two halves so you wouldn’t need to mess with the clay, attach sprues and air reliefs through wax rods attached with some heat. You could cut the time down on this by at least a couple hours on the mold making.
WONT THE BABY POWDER LEAVE RESIDUE on the resin??
What kind of spray is this?
Hmm .. the video makes it look easy .. have to try 😍
Why did you decide to pour the resin in two parts? Just curious on the reasoning.
Do you vacuum chamber molds before curing ?
Why not start by 3D printing a mold for the gun, then cast it with resin? That's my go-to approach.
