Riding Uber this holiday season? Don't assume you're fully covered. Get your own uninsured motorist policy! *Not legal advice. Laws vary by state, this case was in Louisiana. Check your state's rules.

That’s crazy because many people in cities don’t have cars, therefore they don’t have car insurance!
Auto insurance follows the insured vehicle not the policy owner. Your wrong.
That’s insane. I mean, I have plenty of coverage but the vehicle you’re in should carry the coverage not your personal policy.
Delete Uber
Its illegal to use regular insurance to drive commerical public without commerical insurance for transporting people? Thats a federal and state law
So if a foreign resident visiting the USA uses rideshare, they are at risk for a huge problem if their uber, Lyft etc gets in an accident with an uninsured motorist. That’s another huge deterrent to the US travel industry.
Inshitification 💯
That’s on the driver. How do people still not understand that under is a glorified dispatcher. You are an independent contractor with these gig jobs.

That is a business which means it is a company requirement to cover all people in that car other wise it is an illegal comoany which makes them liable for the people in that car
Do taxis have it?
If the state requires insurance, then the uninsured motorist is breaking the law and liable to be sued for damages
