This is a fictional version of a true story. This is in Connecticut. In reality it was a piece of property his family owned next to the property his childhood home was on. He inherited it when his father passed. He hadn’t visited it in years. Scammers quick deeded and sold it to some developer who thought they could build a house on it. A child hood friend called him by phone to ask why he sold after all these years. He hadn’t, he drove over, saw the work being done, stopped it. Then he hadn’t visited a house 80% finished. Last I heard, he wanted the house torn down and the land restored.

I hope the land owner takes the developers for a ride and gets a huge win.

He should get to keep the house

Whoever built the house very easily can claim adverse possession. If it’s been over 30 years (1991-2021) the home owner has a good case.
