Okay so I can’t find her chart on the FIRE database it referenced but I looked closer at the chart and it’s not showing what she claims. Mainly, it doesn’t study genders’ tolerance of their own vs opposite gender at all, it shows tolerance of political ideology and divided the results by gender. So it’s showing that women (regardless of left/right) are less tolerant of opposing viewpoint. It’s also a survey of only college students so that is a very narrow demographic that is very unique vs other demos. I’d theorize the gender divide is driven by there being women’s issues on the table - particularly abortion and voting rights - driving a lot more intensity in women about these viewpoints than men (COLLEGE men by the way, who in my experience tend to focus on other things besides politics in general). The creator is super scathing, so I think she’s the one who hates women, and is projecting this result onto the data.
