Running 3-Phase equipment on 110V single phase is easy with a VFD! These under $100 units are all over Amazon and everyone has been using them for years to run 3 phase machines or build belt grinders - so why aren’t you using them yet?

how to run 3 phase equipment on single phase power, step 1: convert to 3 phase
Don’t tell people, let me get 3 phase stuff cheap
Super cool. I just got a step up/down transformer so I can run my 220v Bosch demo carts off of one 110v 15amp outlet.
You just have to be careful with newer equipment. Some new electric motors have specific windings and “smart” features buried in them and they will not run off a VFD being used for phase conversion regardless of how good your VFD is. Just something to keep in mind
My 240 volt 3-phase carbide grinder runs quite adequately on single phase 120 with just a couple of capacitors and a starter relay stolen from a junked 1970s vintage Teletype ASR33 printer, total cost about $8. Sorry.
Man every time hoping it doesn’t blow up
Those good for up to 2hp? Then you need a rotary phase converter?
I’ve got a 50hp machine…..
Gotta inspect your bearings regularly. Fine for infrequent use, but don't do this on a machine you need to use often. Bearings are gonna pit terribly due to eddy currents. You can help extend the life by mounting the brush from an old corded drill or something so it rubs on the motor shaft, and connecting that to the motor ground so no voltage builds in the armature metal. Also ground everything like the wiring diagrams show, vfd's need good grounds!
Can you share what VFD that is? Always been wanting to do that but hate this wiring stuff
Does the vfd have 0-10 volt input option?
Where’s your capacitors?? Make your own.
Not shown: pushing many buttons on the control panel to make it go.
Ain’t that going to be limited by voltage without a transformer in series? I almost ran a VFD to get my knee mill kicking but after pricing the 550v transformer I was put off. The 220v motor can run at half power, but I believe you’re lacking in the voltage department still, despite correcting the phase problem.
