The “fridge test” involves placing a bottle or sample of olive oil in the refrigerator overnight to see if it solidifies. 👏
The theory is that pure extra-virgin olive oil (EVOO) contains high levels of monounsaturated fats that congeal at cold temperatures, while “fake” oils cut with polyunsaturated vegetable oils will stay liquid. 🙅♀️
Many olive oils can be a blend of olive oil and cheap seed oils. 100% Olive oils can be hard to find! 😅

Okay… so I left it in the fridge for 24 hours longer (like the comments suggested) and it solidified. In the video it had only been in the fridge for 10 hours.
This specific olive oil does originate from over 10 countries 🤯 and it is in a plastic bottle! I’ll be looking for a new olive oil.

A true olive oil never comes in a plastic bottle nor an aluminum canister, so a green plastic bottle is a marketing strategic to fool uneducated consumers. True olive oil comes in a dark glass bottle.

If it says it's 100% on the bottle, it is.. You really think we have labeling laws for no reason?
I learned that if the label and ingredient list doesn’t say 100% of that oil then it’s most likely cut with something else.
Olive oil will not solidify in the cold. Saturated fats turn into solids, mono and poly fats do not.
It’s sold in bulk, why would you fully trust it? Same goes for honey, that’s tuff in Costco ain’t real deal
Aldi always passes the test.
By the way in a blind test that olive oil came out as extremely high rated. Great olive oil
