Here are some of our initial thoughts of the HiPUR glue we’ve been hearing about lately..
- It works and holds really well on poplar
- Doesn’t hold nearly as well on oak or other less porous woods
- Very messy but the glue drys and scrapes off well
Hope this helps! We bought ours off of Amazon and got the WW30 glue sticks. (Wood to wood in with a 30 second setup time).

What is the long term hold using this glue?
That’s an intense glue. Hmm 🤔
My guess is that with expansion and contraction of the wood that joint will not hold up without some kind of mechanical device internally. I.e. a screw biscuit or domino.

Me and the other carpenters i work with use PUR with our MDF casing. We do not use any sort of clamps just our hands on the floor. This allows us to pre cut the entire house and assemble, sand and plane if needed and install very quickly. After fulling curing will always break the material before the miter. Never had one split out in my experience. Not a perfect product but works well for me.
It’s not the end all. It doesn’t take paint or stain, and works best when it has a small glue line much like epoxy. Takes forever to heat up, and half of the tube slowly eases out into a puddle on the stand. It’s one tool I wish I never bought.
20years experience chiming in. They crack without a biscuit or mechanical joint of some kind.

Is there any benefit over CA, which holds in a few seconds?
This has been around for over 20 years.
And yet the glue failed. If that was PVA the wood will fail before the glue does.
Show a close up after break apart...what broke, the glue joint itself or was it the wood on either side of the joint?
Thats a long time. Wood glue and 2 Brad nails is like 30 seconds, if that. Its cool tho
