I don’t make the rules, I just play the game.

municipal building codes and laws are so silly. nothing but a speed bump to inconvenience citizens

  • @chrispriice 2026-04-02

The pro move is building the three new walls, then the remaining one accidentally falls down so you build that one new

  • @dcgeneralair 2026-04-02

In California. If you leave only one wall is considered remodel.

This isn't an issue caused by red tape, but rather from a tyrannical government.

I went to Cairo last summer in Egypt and the city looked like a bomb went off because every building‘s top floors were wide open… Turns out as long as you’re working on the building and the construction isn’t complete, The taxes are way less, so every building technically isn’t complete. 🫠🥴

In our city they dont allow indoor pools so this one mansion kept the pool and renovated everything else around it. They just framed a floor over top of it to protect it while renovating

What do you mean “Maliciously comply”? He is complying, period.

  • @exotruck 2026-04-03

Had to do something like this fir my cottage. Its in a "flood plain" so, no new permits. I had to keep the floor and build new on top of that

Thanks for sharing your video!! We like to think of it as a western store front red tape situation😂, follow along the whole story @ourchurchhome of this historic church to home project.

  • @drtunafish 2026-04-03

I’m naïve to this, who would benefit from them calling it new construction?

  • @dxpcwei 2026-04-08

    Legendary move

  • @b.l.e.r.7 2026-04-04

Once they have “everything else” built, couldn’t they tear down the front and “renovate it?” Asking for a friend 👀

  • @jacquitacoulter 2026-04-04

This is my daughter and son-in-law’s “church home” project. The plans are amazing. Just wait till the finished project!
