Test inserts laiton – partie 2 🔩
Cette fois, on fait les choses plus sérieusement : comparaison de la tenue dans 4 matériaux (PLA, PETG, ASA, PA6-GF), avec un Infill de 100% et une clé dynamométrique. 🔧
Résultat chaotique...
Les empreintes de vis M3 détruites à 3N.m 😬
Des vis M4 qui cassent à 7N.m 💥
Des inserts qui tournent dans le vide (~12N.m en M5, et ~15 à 24N.m en M8 ! )

Brass Insert Test – Part 2 🔩
This time, we're taking things more seriously: comparing the strength in 4 materials (PLA, PETG, ASA, PA6-GF), with 100% infill and a torque wrench. 🔧
Chaotic results...
M3 screw heads destroyed at 3 N·m 😬
M4 screws breaking at 7 N·m 💥
Inserts spinning freely (~12 N·m for M5, and ~15 to 24 N·m for M8!)

I always thought these were supposed to be inserted with heat?
At first we wanted to plot a nice graph 📈 of the max. torque VS insert size, and for the 4 materials... But as most M3 & M4 screws stripped, our measurements are not that interesting.
Warum heißen die Einschmelzmuttern? Damit man sie kalt tein quetscht😂
Even though the experiment didn’t go as expected, it’s still interesting. In which material, and what insert sizes failed (stripped)?
Metiendo los insertos así, no me extraña que se partan
What are you using for hole dimensions for your inserts?
I wasted 2 minutes
👏
Ah vous l’avez fait ! ❤️
@ruthex.de thanks for the inserts by the way, we love them 😁👌
If is a m4 insert do you do a m4 hole on the print or a bit smaller
🔥🔥🔥
👏nice tests
Ok ottimo test. Ma cosa significa? Il pa6 non tiene e il Petg si? Gentilmente puoi spiegare. Grazie mille.
