Red label isnt meant to be drink neat 💀 It’s a mixer, with cola etc. You should start at black label when drinking neat. I know, I worked for Diageo, brand owner of JW.

I did this recently with a decent rye burbon, cherry chips smoked into the bourbon, slice of orange and burnt the sugar, some bitters, marencino cherry syrup for sweetness, orange rind, let the smoke from the cherry chips settle in the glass over a few minutes, and added some ice cubes: turned out perfectly and a 25$ -35$ drink at home.
