Truly incredible day at this ‘theme park’ (a.k.a the best place ever), set in a 150 hectare ancient land. It’s completely different from a traditional theme park like Disneyland or Alton Towers, as there are no roller coasters, log flumes, or standard rides but insanely creative show productions, immersive historical experiences and villages of craftsmen and women, that transport you back in time. (For a 37 year old with severe motion sickness this is great news!)
A step into history, covering the Roman Empire, Viking and Dark Ages, Medieval / Middle Ages, Renaissance, maritime exploration, nature, fantasy... and the rest!
Ps. The bird show (Le Bal des Oiseaux Fantômes) was one of the best things we’ve ever seen! 🦅 🥺 and the park have a huge bird conservation project! 🌳
To explore fully and experience every show you would need 2 days, however a day trip is also totally worth it. The app is a really great tool to plan your time wisely, based on your show preferences 🐎 💃 🎭 🎆
Plus it’s affordable for an awesome day (or 2) out as adults, or with kids!
🚌 For vanlifers, there is a huge, affordable motorhome site 10 minutes walk/ few minute on the free shuttle bus. This is part of the park organisation and has, EHU, shower block, toilets and dishwashing facilities included ⚡️
