unfortunately they would get full of iron filings if you are working with steel at all

Whoever designed this clearly hasn't fabricated or worked in a shop. I hate magnets!

Great idea, not practical for a production fab shop. I see a lot of temu welders buying these

I love my tooling covered in metal shavings and drilling chips 😂

Anyone who works with steel is hesitant to buy magnets because of the dust

  • @pikassocustom 2026-06-25

For welders it’s not good idea, because magnetic effect with more Iron shavings on the desktop, and the magnetic effect greatly affects the welding arc.

Magnets are the most under utilized resource on the earth. Change my mind button——->

Ingenious ! I am used to metal on my magnets. I use vice grips all the time and could use these.🪄

Switch to ball detents or retaining rings

    Man, these are genius! 👏👏

As a metal worker, my favorite tools are ones whos functionality can be compromised by metal dust.

  • @christian_arcweld 2026-06-25

Good idea but heat weakens magnets

  • @claysgarage 2026-06-25

I like everything about these except not using original vise grips for the demonstration, come on guys, where would we all be without the original vise grip. Sorry not sorry, Im a stickler for great ingenuity, lots of copies since. Just saying.

One weld and the heat will kill the magnetism. One grind and they will be a fuzzy ball of metal filings!
