Every hotel that gets called “the best in the country” usually disappoints me. This one didn’t.
@nayaragardens sits at the foot of an active volcano in La Fortuna, Costa Rica and I’m not exaggerating when I say it might be one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in.
Our casita had its own private heated pool and a view of Mount Arenal.
The property is fully immersive—thermal pools heated by the volcano, daily yoga, waterfall hike to La Fortuna (we saw a sloth 🦥), a traditional coffee roasting experience, and some of the best food I’ve had anywhere.
If Costa Rica is anywhere on your list SAVE THIS. You’ll want it when you’re planning.

As a frequent visitor to Costa Rica, I’ve always loved Nayara Resorts and completely agree with your review. Every stay has been memorable, and the team has consistently gone above and beyond to make guests feel special.
I’d also highly recommend the tented accommodations from the same ownership — the setting and pool are simply amazing and not to be missed. It’s no surprise that the resort has been recognized by Forbes Travel Guide. One thing I personally love is the subtle Indian touches around the property, including a beautiful Ganesha. I understand the owners visit India regularly, and their appreciation for Indian culture is reflected in some of the thoughtful details throughout the resort. Truly a special place.
Incredible. I’ll be staying at Tabacón in La fortuna in January. Looks very similar to yours. Pure luxury and beauty 🙌

La fortuna is absolutely gorgeous but the volcano is absolutely not active. And you can go for a hike along it.

It actually is 10/10 .. beautiful resort
The volcano is not currently active…it’s dormant since 2010.
What was your favorite part the thermal pools, the volcano views, or the wildlife?
I think this seems more of a promotional post. Been there and I must say you gotta visit @tabaconresort before claiming this is the best. Rankings suggest Tabacon being rightfully the best, nayara was nice but it can't beat the natural thermal springs that Tabacon offers
