3️⃣ Abliteration finds that refusal direction and orthogonalizes the weights against it
4️⃣ Result: the model stops saying “I can’t help with that” — core capabilities stay intact
5️⃣ The truth no one says: it doesn’t make models smarter or unlock hidden knowledge — it only strips the refusal layer
⚠️ The tradeoff: removing safety means these models will also produce genuinely harmful output on request. That’s context, not a selling point.
