Why they hide it? Because they want to harvest all that tasty data!

If you're installing windows to a blank computer then use Rufus to remove these features when prepping the USB

    I think it’s actually pronounced:
    “Microslop”

Windows Pro, just “Sign in options” > Join local domain, easier steps for most end users who don’t know how to use CMD

So glad I am on a Mac. 🌞
None of this bs. I have word and excel, but Mac versions that don’t require signing in.

There is an open source tool that lets you disable all Microsoft bloatware and ads too, if you don’t feel like going too technical

Most people are scared of CMD😂

I'm gonna give the easiest option that works with all windows editions and versions and is also future proof: ditch windows and move to linux. That's what I did, never regretted in the past 2 years.

Other sign in options -> join domain instead

  • @kencanhustle 2026-06-07

That’s what I do at work. But I heard they are gonna get rid of the command in the future

  • @dennis_fl_ 2026-06-06

In the Setup select "setup for work and School" then "Other sign-in options" then "Domain join instead"

I partitioned a new computer so I could set up a dual windows/Linux OS, use Linux til I feel confident with it, and then lose Windows but Windows has a thousand Sneaky ways to keep you from doing it. It wouldn't even recognize the Linux USB bootdrive that I made, and it's set to auto boot into Windows with all kinds of safeguards to make sure that you do. So, would this boot method help me to blow past some of its roadblocks? I'm already getting tired, and well ... I used to think Windows was kinda evil ... but now I know it is !!!

you can also just skip OOBE. Not really sure why you wouldn't be setting up a standard image for all of your machines that skips all of this, really easy to setup - doing it like this in a service desk setting would be insane.

Or Connect with Domain and type in any name and you are good to go
