Midjourney, the image generation company, just built the sequel to the MRI.
Step onto a platform, descend into a shallow pool of water, and pass through a ring of sensors that image your entire body in about 60 seconds.
That is the pitch behind Midjourney Medical, a new health division from the company known for AI image generation.
Its first hardware product is a full-body scanner called Ultrasonic CT, which uses sound and water instead of radiation or magnetic fields. CEO David Holz claims the quality rivals MRI in far less time.
The device is built on a licensing deal with Butterfly Network for ultrasound-on-chip components. Midjourney plans to house the scanners inside a Midjourney Spa opening in San Francisco at the end of 2027, alongside saunas and cold plunges.
At launch it will offer only body composition maps and avoid diagnosis. The long-term goal is 50,000 units worldwide and a billion scans a month.

I read 60s I imagine a 1960s tech body scanner...
Midjourney Scanner, a full-body ultrasound scanning system. According to reports, it can create a 3D scan of the body in about 60 seconds using thousands of ultrasound transducers and specialized processing hardware.
The important part:
It is not currently approved as a cancer-detection device.
It does not claim to pinpoint every tumor.
The initial goal is body composition imaging (muscle, fat, organs, bones) and tracking changes over time.
The company says it hopes to eventually approach MRI-like capabilities, but that's a future goal, not a demonstrated clinical reality.
Vaporware until it’s actually in use. I don’t trust any upcoming products advertising with this much production value
This will be revolutionary if it works as advertised. I have undergone more than 20 CT scans for the past 6 years after being diagnosed with Liver Cancer.. and having an ultrasound with this level of resolution would be awesome.

I have so many questions like. Why is an AI image generator making a movie about science but it’s not a movie it’s actual medical research. ……?
There’s an ultrasonic breast scan for cancer screening too that my friend has done, you lay flat and it uses suction to pull tissue into a warm water chamber for scanning and it’s apparently very comfortable pretty neat
First to the game with the slop image generation, gets rapidly cannibalised by industry titans, basically goes silent for years, comes back with MRI v2.

Breakthroughs like this should be far more common. We need to get back to developing technology that advances humanity, not just corporate profits. Competition should be about achieving the best outcomes and improving lives—not making the most money. Imagine how much further ahead we’d be as a species if that were the goal.
Information overload can set us back. It’s not the scan - it’s the interpretation, and having a human help us balance what’s important to know with how we’re meant to feel and move through it. Sometimes not worrying about a problem until it becomes one is actually healthier… and maybe that peace is part of what may keep us well to begin with ❤️

Ah yes, Midjourney, the company whose TOS is effectively "we'll ban you if we don't like what you're creating and we won't tell you why". That will work well within medical regulatory frameworks.
The metatron non linear scanner has being doing this for over a decade. Used in hospitals in Russia and China. There are Practioner globally who have the machine using it for diagnosis like my mother @dhnaturalmedicineclinic
