This is a new take on gold electroforming jewellery which is very interesting. However the black and white checkerboard is still plastic so it will wear out.

I posted the ring model for free on my profile on makerworld. If you dare: go for it! ❤️❤️❤️

Is it true that nickle electrolyte is very cancerous and toxic? How do you manage to do it?

  • @lars.pj 2026-06-19

    Perfect Timing.
I’ve just bought myself a Lab PSU and other supplies for Galvanisation.

Snapmaker U1 💪🏻 I have it too. Btw, where do you buy electrolyte solutions?

Idea: trombone mouthpiece. I say this because I promised my colleague. I would make one, based on your videos. 😅

Does the plating create a stronger piece? Or is it still capable of breaking? This is really cool

Really cool, an other trick would be to print the outer ring into 2 parts. Coat them first so it will prevent spillage onto the middle part. Assemble and put it in the électrolyse ? 🤔

Do you really need that much blue liquid for two small rings...?

  • @canunezz 2026-06-20

    Is electroplating in gold expensive?

  • @fernandobudai 2026-06-19

What product did you use to paint the print and then do the electro deposition?

  • @lilly_patterson31 2026-06-23

I’m looking to do some form of electroplating for some rings I am making in different colors. Does the copper react to your skin in any way?

Maybe if the plaetic is a technical material, not pla or petg
