A creator ran Claude Code over SSH on a reMarkable Paper Pro and turned a slow e-ink tablet into a terminal for coding. The device is usually sold as a distraction-free notebook, and the screenshots show Claude Code on Opus 4.8 with bypass permissions enabled.
The interesting part is not just that it worked. It is that the tablet’s biggest weakness — delay — lines up with the cadence of an AI agent that thinks and writes one step at a time. That makes the setup feel oddly natural, even if it is still a hacked workflow and not a mainstream product.
