For everyone asking: place garlic in a pot of water and bring to a roiling boil for 10 seconds, shock in ice water, Repeat 3-4 times.

My guy I grew up on aglio o olio and this ain’t it. Boiling the garlic your releasing its flavors.

Try this- EVOO in the pan on medium heat, slice your garlic thin or put it in a processor to get it fine. Let it melt in the oil, add red pepper flakes and black pepper. Once the garlic is translucent and your pasta is ready pour the sauce over pasta and add parsley and basil. Use some pasta water to loosen it up if you need to.

If you still think your way is better I’ll respect that but I’m going with my Nonna’s recipe :)

Boil it 5x? Why not just boil it once 5x as long?

  • @robbsaid 2026-07-07

Doesn't boiling garlic cloves in separate volumes of water get rid of the garlic taste that most prefer? I'm gonna try it with roasted garlic cloves instead

Can someone with more culinary science knowledge than me explain why we boil the same garlic multiple times instead of just once for longer?

It’s ready in minutes too! Make it almost every Friday.

  • @honeyeats_ 2026-07-06

Are you boiling your garlic in the same water?

  • @marianacnicoli 2026-07-09

i genuinely heard "45" times instead of "4 to 5" times and for a second i was flabbergasted trying to do the math for the time required for this meal

  • @izwhtitiz 2026-07-08

What are you repeating 4-5 times? Boiling garlic? Why not do it all at once? 🤷🏻‍♂️

  • @lafemmelulu 2026-07-08

Bro eatin’ it like we gonna come and swipe it from him. 😭 JK, I’m jealous!! I’m gonna try this recipe 💯

  • @dscrtguy 2026-07-06

Call me dumb but I don’t understand what you mean by “repeat this process 4-5 times”. Are you saying we need to boil the same garlic cloves 4 to 5 times over and over again? Or 4 to 5 batches of garlic? And if it’s the same garlic over and over again, am I supposed to let it get back to room temperature? Am I supposed to reuse the same water or does that make a difference? Sorry it’s kinda unclear

  • @nicolelefaivre 2026-07-09

Do you change the water each time you bring garlic to a boil ?

  • @ann_rozaa 2026-07-08

I don’t get it, ur supposed to boil the same garlic four to five times?

  • @angelo_smackahaux 2026-07-08

How long do you boil the garlic? I also saw you removed the stems because they are bitter right?
