See those lines on your sewing machines metal plate, those are measurements.

They make measuring tape stickers, they're popular and available in sewing shops and online and cheaper than measuring tape
I would use one of Ikea's paper meter, but the idea is nice

Draw lines on masking tape and stick that on the machine...save the tape measure...but whatever works for you 👍🏼
