Zero reason for using animal based products when there are a multitude of alternatives out there

Oak is one of the most porous woods out there. Try that on a piece of maple, or elm, or even spruce. Anything that doesn’t have hollow cellulosic formation.

These are really cool for museum quality restorations, but for smaller at home projects just water down some wood glue and use a large syringe

How does it work in material that doesn’t have an open pore grain?

Hi, great video. But I am at a loss of the application, purpose of this? Where would this be used? In what processes? Under what circumstances? Would you share that? Or is an earlier video explaining that? I'll check them out. Always good to learn new things 👍.

Is that hide glue? Does it have to be thinned out or is that just a ton of pressure? This would be handy for guitar repair.

  • @slaeggan1 2026-07-15

When would this be applied? Like in what circumstances do you use glue in the pores?

You could do this with a drinking straw on red oak. Try it with white oak, and report back.
