Surgical Scaffoldings have revolutionized my breast work. Who is a good candidate and for which specific product depends on a number of factors and must be highly individualized to the patient. Some of my patients have skin elasticity issues and benefit from increased tissue strength. Increasing lower pole tissue strength, reduces skin stretch over time, increases upper pole fullness and increases longevity of the results over time. Other patients have implant malposition…lateral displacement into the armpit, medial displacement/synmastia, or bottoming out of the breast crease. The Internal Bra, in these circumstances, provides pocket control. A third indication for the Internal Bra is in the setting of Capsular Contracture. The body’s normal response to an implant (anywhere in the body) is to form scar tissue. In the majority of women, this scar tissue is soft and imperceptible.
