Recipe ⤵️ My secret to the perfect flour tortillas 🫓🤍
Ingredients:
- 3 c ap flour
- 1 c HOT water (like near boiling)
- 2 tsp salt
- 1/3 c softened lard/butter
- extra flour for rolling
Directions:
1. Add your flour & salt to your a mixing bowl for your stand mixer.
2. With the dough hook attachment, start mixing on a low speed. Slowly add in your lard/butter.
3. Once incorporated, slowly start adding in your hot water. It should be very hot almost near boiling.
4. Once all your water has been added it should be a semi sticky dough. If it looks too dry just add in a little water.
5. Mix on med speed for 5-8 mins until a nice smooth dough has formed.
6. Remove it and shape into a nice ball. Add it back to mixing bowl. And cover with damp towel. Place somewhere warm for 15-20mins.
7. Once ready, start tearing off small segments and rolling it into equal sized balls.
8. Add them to lightly floured tray. Make sure to keep them covered while working with the dough.
9. Rolls them out one by one on lightly floured surface. Roll them in every direction, and turn them 90* every few rolls, until they’re super thin and almost see through.
10. Add to a hot comal over medium low heat. Cook on each side for 30-45 seconds. Until golden brown.
11. Enjoy now or let them cool and add them to container and store in fridge!

I finally made these and they are 🔥. I did 60g dough balls. Also, I didn’t have a comal, but my enameled cast iron did the trick.
